![]() The valleys and sandbanks can also be reached by bike. Cycle tracks, normal roads and dirt roads allow you to reach these wild areas of the Lagoon. The landscape on view is unique and runs from the uninhabited sandbanks to the area of Saccagnana, Mesole and Lio Piccolo, to the islands of Burano and Torcello, whose bell towers are reflected in the water. |

These little hamlets, set amidst nature that is still wild, have typical flora and fauna and form a unique environment. You can see egrets, white, red and grey herons, cormorants, black-winged stilts, yellow-legged gulls and even a new colony of flamingos, together with other species of typical Lagoon fauna. | ![]() |

| Farther away, passing through Cavallino through the navigational basin towards Jesolo, you can also reach Lio Maggiore, Valle Grassabò and the banks of Piave Vecchia, places that also preserve the same untamed charm. |
| On the way back, you can ride the cycle track that will take you to the bridge between Cavallino and Jesolo to the Lighthouse at Punta Sabbioni, where you can bear South and explore the lovely pine forest between Ca' Savio and Punta Sabbioni. Another alternative is to follow Via Pordelio, the road that runs alongside the canal of the same name, from which you can admire the rural Lagoon landscape where the colours change with the passing of the hours and the seasons. | ![]() |

In June the Pordelio canal hosts the Palio Remiero delle Contrade, an exciting event with a parade of decorated boats, followed by regattas with typical Lagoon vessels (mascarete, caorline and small gondolas) with crew representing the 12 local contrade. The route winds 12 km down the canal, from Forte Vecchio to Lio Grando to the Piazza di Cavallino. You can follow the whole event by bike. |
